Our “Look of L-Ann” Model search is underway and we are so blown away by the number of votes we have received so far. Voting began 48 hours ago and we have gotten over 850 total votes with 4 days to go yet. this has been SO fun for us, getting to meet and work with the models. Another Monday tomorrow. We are so excited, we’re doing Amanda’s bridals tomorrow! Yea! Planning some really special, beautiful shots for her and Jeremy.
Our “Look of L-Ann” sessions are going strong, we’ve shot about half already. Some of the models are amazing! I would love to post some of the shots now, bu tI have to wait until all of them are shot in the Summer shootout. If I post early, it gives an unfair advantage to the ones I posted early - soooooooo, we’ll wait until August 3rd when we shoot the last ones. Stay tuned, voting is ust aorund the corner….
First day of Pretty Paws - see our Facebook site for pics!! I am soooo jazzed about them!
Tomorrow is our first “Pretty Paws” session! A special session for pets, AND despite the name your pet doesn’t have to have paws to participate!! LOL
We are looking at selling some surplus equipment - we have a 24-70 f2.8 Canon L series lens, a 18-200 Tamron lens f3.6-6.3, and a Canon 30D camera we’re looking at selling. Call us if you’re interested - really good prices!!! 570-8326
Goin’ green. For many it’s a catch phrase, a marketing gimmick, a way to hit the headlines. We’re taking it a bit more seriously. How? All of our office printer paper is at least 30% recycled paper, of course our photo paper is 100% new!! We’re reducing our solid waste as well. We bring our own cups to the studio to fill from our water cooler, no plastic bottles here! In fact, plastic is our REAL pet peeve. We’re reducing our plastic useage in several areas, one that is making a large impact is in our image backup system.
Our workflow drives us to backup your session onto CD/DVD before we leave the studio for the day. As we archive our finished images the original CD/DVD is thrown away in favor of the edited images. This creates a LOT of plastic waste. We have recently transitioned to RW, or rewritable, discs that can be used over and over again.
We’re also going greener on our CD proofing slideshows. We are about to move to a system that allows us to post your proof slideshow to the internet, password protected of course, and share with family and friends. This eliminates the CD that we send home with you that eventually winds up in the landfill.
Our goal is to reduce plastic waste generated by our studio by 80% by the end of 2010. We’ll let you know how we’re doing!

And Merry Christmas! With Christmas almost upon us, we pause and say “Thanks!” for 2009, and we hope to see you in 2010. We’re planning on taking some much needed time off between Christmas and New Year’s. ok- Randy is usually the blogger… but I’m gonna try this. I’ve always loved the old B&W 1940’s photos. I just never really made the move to shoot anything like that-til Audrey & Chris came into the studio last year. They booked us for their wedding and stessed- they wanted something different! YEAH!! Well yesterday we shot their engagements. I wanted to post a couple- I’m very pleased and they absolutely loved them!!
And thanks to Erick and his magic… can you guess?? The smoke’s not real.
